Environmental and Sustainability Statement

At Medspace Solutions Ltd, we are deeply committed to minimising our environmental footprint and promoting sustainability in all aspects of our operations.

As an SME based in Clevedon, near Bristol, specializing in manufacturing, supplying, and installing furniture for healthcare and clinical environments, we recognize the importance of responsible environmental practices.

Our factory is powered by solar panels, which significantly reduces our reliance on non-renewable energy sources and decreases our carbon footprint. This sustainable energy source aligns with our commitment to environmental stewardship and demonstrates our dedication to operating in an environmentally responsible manner.

Responsibility

We hold ourselves and our suppliers to high environmental standards, acknowledging our collective responsibility to protect the planet. Oversight of the implementation of our environmental policy lies with designated personnel, while every employee is accountable within their respective roles to ensure adherence to our environmental objectives.

Resources

We allocate resources to support our environmental objectives, including education and training materials for staff, readily accessible environmental policies, and appropriate equipment to facilitate compliance across all our operations.

Additionally, we exclusively use timber sourced from FSC and PEFC approved forests in our products. This ensures that our wood comes from responsibly

managed forests, promoting biodiversity, protecting endangered species, and supporting local communities. By choosing FSC and PEFC certified timber, we contribute to forest conservation efforts and demonstrate our commitment to sustainable sourcing practices.

Objectives

  1. Reduce unnecessary vehicle use: We aim to minimize or eliminate non-essential vehicle journeys by fitting company vehicles with movement trackers to monitor usage effectively.
  2. Supplier qualification and approval: All suppliers are required to complete a qualification questionnaire and obtain approval to ensure compliance with our environmental standards.
  3. Transition to hybrid or electric vehicles: Upon lease expiry, all new lease vehicles will be hybrid or electric, aligning with our commitment to reducing carbon emissions.
  4. Waste management: We have implemented a factory furnace to utilize waste chipboard as heat energy, diverting it from landfill and reducing our environmental impact.

TARGETS

  1. Monthly monitoring of company vans to ensure appropriate usage, discouraging short journeys or non-essential trips.
  2. Regular review of our approved supplier list to ensure continued compliance with environmental standards.
  3. Approval process for new vehicles by the company leadership to uphold our commitment to hybrid/electric vehicle adoption
