We have recently completed a Medicine Storage and store room project at Harefield Hospital. Medspace met with Sue Mather – Senior Sister for ITU and worked with her to meet all her expectations and requirements.
Sue had a CQC inspection coming up and had three different requirements that we could help with, one being to maximise the space in their Store room. They currently had a few bays of free standing racking in a room, this room would be ideal for our Metro Top-track system. Top-track is an excellent space saver and would work perfectly for the type of products being stored in this area.
Medspace received the order for this being the most competitive company and including our usual excellent service. The whole team at Harefield are now very happy with their new store room and we have received brilliant feedback.
Medspace prides itself company that can offer a complete bespoke solutions. This ensures our customers are completely satisfied with the final product. Medspace knew we could help further so we had a meeting with ITU / HDU and Pharmacy to look at their Medicine requirements.
Pharmacy confirmed they needed to comply with BS2881 which meant their medicines had to be stored within a space that can take attack for a number of minutes. Compliance to BS2881 would mean a metal cabinet would be required as standard wooden carcass would not fully comply.
Having run a project quite recently we had already designed a HTM71 metal cabinet that complied with these standards, they needed to be adapted to hold 2 Digi-locks, and be reduced slightly in the height. The reason this product has since become so successful is being an HTM71 system, it is the recommended product to be used within a Healthcare environment. All the space within the cabinet is usable space, when you have a shelved unit you create dead space on each shelf. The team were happy with the prices we submitted and the system we designed. We have since carried out the installation and they are extremely happy with the product and would recommend it to other users.
After speaking to Pharmacy they needed medication Trolleys, designed to have 4 and 6 pull out drawers with the bed numbers on them, these would store medication for each person in each bed. They also needed to be compliant to BS2881 and had the security for them to be attached to the wall. Medspace worked with them and we designed a trolley to use the Digi-lock as requested and other requirements.
We let them trial the trolley or a number of weeks and then they placed the order for 4 of the trolleys. They have again been very happy with this product and we are confident we will be working again with Sue in the future.
